Centre offers a wide range of different services and projects:
Side By Side
A community-enabling
scheme for people with learning difficulties
Ivy Project
An independent project
encouraging community involvement of young people (12-25 years) in
Exeter, including task force events and support to run their own
projects.
Safe Hands
In-house supported
volunteer placements for people with additional support needs
(Indoor Group) which undertakes administration tasks for local
charities and community groups.
First Step
Project
Supporting volunteers
experiencing and recovering from mental illness into meaningful
volunteering.
Volunteer
Health Champions Project
is about volunteers
getting involved to help make their communities healthier. Health
Champion accredited training is provided by the NHS.
The
Exeter Council for Voluntary Service, which runs the
Exeter Volunteer Centre, also provides a variety of projects:
Training Department
Provides accredited and
non-accredited training to community and voluntary organisations'
staff and volunteers.
Stepping Up
Providing
pre-employment/volunteering activity and support; offering
appropriate training to individuals to gain employment, and
supporting volunteers in their training needs.
Take Part in Exeter
Encouraging people to
volunteer as Active Citizens, helping decide how things are run,
what gets funded, what gets built in Exeter. Training, support and
guidance provided.
Speaking Up
Empowers learners to
speak up with confidence both for themselves and the groups they
represent. A popular course tailored to the specific needs and
level of its learners.
Be Involved
Devon
is the new involvement
service for anyone on Devon with an interest in mental health and
wellbeing issues who would like to get actively involved in
influencing the development of mental health services.
Carers'
Projects
Carers' Link,
Learning Disability Carers and Parent Carers'
Voice are projects which support and signpost carers
throughout Devon.
